About Me

My photo
Rachel J
Growing up my Mama used to always say, "When you're the boss of the tomato sauce, you can make the decisions." Well guess what? I am so totally boss of not only the tomato sauce now, but I'm also the boss of this blog-Laptops and Stovetops. Laptops and Stovetops was at first a hobby inspired by a latent love of cooking and baking combined with the awesome unknown factor of free time after getting a Master's degree. Over the past two years blogging has grown from hobby to obsession. Like all good former college students, the naming of my blog has a duality of meaning and symbolism. 'Stovetops' signifies my early years learning to cook our family's Italian-American dishes standing eye-level to my mother's hip and the stovetop. 'Laptops' signifies my scholarly studies of interactive media and how it serendipitously lead to my present process of learning to cook new and exotic dishes from the food blog community at large expanding my culinary vocabulary and arsenal. There you have it folks, a glimpse into the making of a noveau Italian-Fusion cook large and in-charge!
